Youth Organizations

BOY SCOUTS

This Parish-sponsored group provides on-going activities for boys, ages 11-18, in the Pinole area. We stress citizenship, leadership, duty to God and country, and service to the community. We are an active troop with planned monthly camping trips. In addition, the Scouting program offers youth the opportunities to learn many new skills and to explore new interests and careers. Meetings: Troop 81: Most Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm in the Parish Hall.

BROWNIES

This group is open to girls in grade 3. We learn about nature, cooking, crafts, exploring career possibilities, beginning leadership skills and working in groups. Volunteers are appreciated at all times to help plan and assist with activities, and to share their knowledge and abilities with the girls. Meetings: See parish bulletin.

CUB SCOUTS

This group strives to organize boys' activities to help them become good citizens.Volunteers are needed who are willing to help, and will receive training from the Cub Scout handbook. Meetings: First Tuesday of the month at Stewart School in Pinole. Individual Cub Scout dens (divided by grade) meet weekly or bi-weekly at different locations throughout Pinole, including the Parish Center. See the Parish bulletin for more information.

CYO SPORTS

This program exists for the development of positive Christian values in the youth of our parish through athletic programs. It encourages principles of fair play and good sportsmanship in every game. Volleyball and basketball are open to girls who were enrolled in CCD, St. Joseph School, and/or Youth Ministry in the prior year, and who continue to participate in those programs. We invite girls to join our volleyball and basketball teams, and we need coaches for the games. Basketball is open to boys who were enrolled in St. Joseph School, CCD, and/or Youth Ministry in the prior year and who continue to participate in those programs. Coaches for the boys' programs are also needed. Training for coaches is given at diocesan and parish workshops and meetings.  All coaches must be certified and cleared through the procedures of the Safe Environment for Children Program.
